At the end of October Microsoft launched a long-awaited Remote Desktop client that extends the functionality for desktops and applications running on Windows and Windows Server allowing access from Android and iOS mobile devices. An app for the Windows phone is forthcoming.
Previously remote access on Android and iOS devices was only available through 3rd party vendors such as 2X Client, and you could only access remote desktops. With the new app users can also access stand alone remote apps.
DataCenterDirect Software as a Service (SaaS) and Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solutions can be deployed across Android and iOS devices using the new app as seen below with the COATSsql human resources application developed by our partners at COATS Staffing Software.
